- Priority in our projects are REINTRODUCTION
PROGRAMS.
SOS
FAUNA is currently fundraising to build a WILDLIFE
HOLDING FACILITY to rehabilitate and manage animals rescued
from traffic with the main purpose of RELEASING
THEM BACK TO THE WILD.
To
co-operate with similar units allover the country, we are now celebrating
agreements with other states where wildlife market is concentrated
in Brazil.
The
pictures below show the site of this future rehabilitation center,
a very well preserved 20,000 sqm area in an Atlantic forest region
near to São Paulo city.

An inspiring morning for our visitors. As soon as we start operating,
schools will be able to bring their students for an open class about
wildlife and preservation of our nature.

- SOS FAUNA also targets land appropriation to PRESERVE
AND PROTECT SPECIES THREATENED by illegal trading in areas where
degradation is enhanced.
3 - Second priority, but not less important, are studies focused on
ENVIRONMENT EDUCATION to find out effective
ways of addressing not only society as a whole, but also communities
where wildlife traffic and poaching activities are a critical testimony
of poverty and where ecological concerns cannot be expected from those
who strive to feed their numerous families.
Right:
children also become wildlife
dealers (Paraíba, NE of Brazil)
This is an overview of our targets, however COOPERATION and PARTNERSHIPS
are essential for our projects to be carried out.
